Spring Racing ramps up this weekend with Derby Day signalling the beginning of the illustrious Melbourne Cup Carnival for 2017. And on Thursday, one of the prestigious Birdcage marquees was revealed to the public showing fans what's in store for its A-list guests. A $2.2million yacht, pole dancers and15,000 bottles of Champagne will be on offer in the lavish Maison Mumm marquee, withVictoria's Secret model Shanina Shaik returning home to host its official launch.


Maison Mumm Marquee In a first for the Birdcage at Flemington, a largeS59 cruising motor yacht worth $2.2 million takes pride of place in the heart of the two story marquee. The yacht, named after Mumm's new Grand Cordon bottle, will be used to host private tastings of Mumm's Le Mistral cocktail.
The rich and famous will party it up with world-class performances by singers, dancers, acrobats, musicians and DJs. Party group Strut & Fret will delight with daring displays during their 'Voyage Nautique' show, which is believed to include pole dancers. Also on the line-up is internationally renowned singer and entertainer, Sheba Williams, a roving saxophone player and French performer Mikael Bres, who will wow onlookers with his 'Chinese Pole' routine.
As the Official Champagne sponsor of the Melbourne Cup Carnival for the eighth year in a row, Maison Mumm anticipates serving arecord-breaking 90,000 glasses of Champagne across Flemington this year, with more than 15,000 bottles at the ready. The Champagne will also be served in a delicious selection of cocktails over the four race days. Pernod Ricard Australia managing director Bryan Fry said: 'We are so excited to bring our guests to what we feel is our best Melbourne Cup Carnival experience to date.
.. 'Last year we had such tremendous success with the Mumm swimming pool that we had to think hard about what we could do to continue to raise the bar, and this has certainly done that.' There will be a plethora of famous faces beyond the velvet rope of the exclusive Birdcage including #RichKids of Beverly Hills stars Morgan Stewart and Brendan Fitzpatrick, Real Housewives of Sydney stars Krissy Marsh and Nicole O'Neil, Real Housewives of Melbourne stars Gina Liano and Lydia Shiavello and E! News host Ksenija Lukich. The never-before-seen marquee structure was built around the vessel, which wastransported from Newcastle by road and delivered into the Birdcage using a 250-tonne crane.
The impressive installation was revealed by Australian model and Mumm Ambassador, Shanina Shaik, who christened the vessel with a bottle of the champagne. The yacht will be christened every race day, with Shanina returning to the marquee on Saturday's AAMI Derby Day to do the honours again. Guests inside the VIP enclosure will be treated to sheer decadence with Champagne cocktails, food prepared by some of the country's top chefs and the ability to purchasethe new Mumm Grand Cordon before its release in Australian next year.
Lavazza Marquee Global Italian coffeehouse Lavazza unveiled its marquee on Wednesday. Reminiscent of a luxury Italian hotel, it was designed by one of Australia's foremost style gurus Neale Whitaker. Much-loved Australian actress, Zoe Ventoura, has travelled from Los Angeles to Melbourne to attend this year's Melbourne Cup Carnival exclusively for the brand.
From the exterior, the 'Palazzo Lavazza' is a crisp white building with cafe-style windows and greenery-laden ledges. Lavazza-branded awnings also hang out from the window. Gold stairs and rails will lead guests up into the structure, which has been designed with patterned floor tiles and and a metallic gold bar.
Lounges are available for guests to rest their feet throughout the day, with artwork displayed around the white and marbled walls of the marquee. Emirates Marquee Emirates' highly-anticipated Birdcage Marquee at this year's Melbourne Cup Carnival will mimic the luxurious on-board features and key traits of an Emirates' A380 aircraft. The airline will bring to life its signature First Class and Business Class luxury experience as its latest Marquee theme.
The marquee will boast incredible attention to detail - VIP guests to be greeted by Emirates Cabin Crew before being offered gourmet cuisine, immersive interpretative performances and first class pampering via the Shower Spa and on-board lounge. Impromptu wrist live performances throughout the race days will draw inspiration from Emirates' in-flight entertainment and will include gymnasts, dancers and actors. The marquee's Shower Spa will give guests the opportunity to touch-up their hair and make-up in a tranquil environment, with Celebrity hair stylist Joey Scandizzo and his expert team on hand.
Much like Emirates' A380 on-board Lounge, the marquee will feature grey teak wood wall paneling and sumptuous cream leather to contrast with the gold marble detailing on the main bar, and hues of blue found in the furnishings. Myer Marquee The Myer Marquee offers a bold, brave and colourful space for VIP race-goers with a retro interior and bright colour palate. Guests will enter through a set of grand black steel doors, ascend a staircase into the elevated lounge area completed with lush carpeted walls, futuristic furniture and miles of golden mirrors.
Fixed two meters above the Birdcage, guests will enjoy uninterrupted views of the track alongside a 15 metre long bar, an elevated DJ booth set above the 'Dance through Selfie Booth' and live entertainment. The venue has considered Instagram opportunities for the stars at every corner, with a selfie booth and quirkily slogans printed on mosaic tiled floor for people to show off their 'shoe game' on social media. Ensuring marquee attendees never go without, a movable feast and cocktail conveyer belt has been built to deliver food and drinks from the bar to guests as they relax.
Guests will be treated to an array of unexpected and innovative culinary concoctions, including crudité in a can, croissant with fruit loop ice cream, mac and cheese with cheetos crumbs and kingfish in kombu leather with roast chilli sauce. The alienware Face of Myer, Jennifer Hawkins, and Myer Ambassadors, Kris Smith, Rachael Finch, Jodi Anasta and Lauren Phillips will attend various race days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. The Myer Marquee will also host some of the best DJ's spinning the hottest tunes and party classics over the four days, including a live set from international special guest and Justin Beiber's official DJ - Tay James.
Kennedy Marquee Luxury jewellery and watch retailer Kennedy is a new contender in the prestigious Flemington Birdcage enclosure. The marquee spot was previously occupied by Southern Cross Austereo and sits opposite the Lavazza marquee. Signing a five-year sponsorship deal with Victoria Racing Club, the brand has secured itself naming rights to Oaks Day and the official timekeeper at Flemington, with the name set to be emblazoned on the clock tower.
